Leslie Kym Mukes, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, gracefully departed from this world on April 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories. Born on November 11, 1969, in Spencer, Oklahoma, to James Lester Mukes and Darlene Joanne Wandick Mukes, Kym was the youngest of three beloved sisters born into a family rich with warmth and faith.
From her early years, Kym's heartbeat with a fervent love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, a devotion nurtured under the loving guidance of her Uncle and Pastor, Rev. Raymond Wandick. Her days were filled with joyous fellowship and spirited adventures at the First Baptist Church of Green Pastures, where she participated eagerly in BTU, Camp Burgess, and Vacation Bible School trips, forming bonds that would last a lifetime.
As she journeyed through life, Kym's spirited nature and infectious smile endeared her to all who knew her. She excelled in sports during her school days, particularly in basketball, where her competitive spirit brought people together in joyous camaraderie. Kym's zest for life extended beyond the court, as she embraced each day with a radiant positivity that illuminated the lives of those around her.
Kym's greatest blessings were her four cherished children: Rosheldon, Kavon, Desma, and Davion, who were the lights of her life. Her devotion to them knew no bounds, as she poured her heart into raising them with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Throughout her life, Kym found fulfillment in serving others, embodying a spirit of compassion and generosity in her various roles. Whether managing childcare facilities, transporting the elderly, or supervising maintenance at Dale Rogers Training Center, Kym's dedication and kindness touched the lives of many.
But it was within her family that Kym's true essence shone brightest. A pillar of strength and love, she was the heart of family gatherings, organizing holiday celebrations and reunions with infectious enthusiasm. Within the fabric of Leslie Kym Mukes's life, her role as the orchestrator of the annual 4th of July gatherings with her mother, Darlene, epitomized her boundless love and unwavering commitment to family. With meticulous planning and infectious enthusiasm. Her boundless energy and sense of fun brought laughter and joy to every occasion, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations to come.
Kym's legacy of love and laughter lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted children, Rosheldon, Kavon, Desma, and Davion, her beloved parents, James and Darlene, her adoring sisters, Tami and DeeDee, her cherished brothers, Marvin, James, and Jaron, her precious grandsons, Dante and Monroe, and a host of beloved family members and friends.
Though she may have left this earthly realm, Kym's spirit remains ever-present, a beacon of light guiding those she loved towards peace and solace. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life of Leslie Kym Mukes, a woman whose love knew no bounds, and whose memory will be cherished eternally.
