Maurice Dewayne Pittman, Sr. was born onjanuary 6, 1965, in route to Clinton, Oklahoma, to the proud parents,John Seldon Pittman, and Pauline Marie Johnson-Pittman. Affectionately known as "Tiny" Maurice embarked on a journey of life marked by passion, resilience, and love.
Tiny's educational journey began in the classrooms of Watonga Public School System in Oklahoma and later continued atjohn Marshall High in the Oklahoma City Public School System. He achieved a significant milestone at the age of 16 when he proudly graduated from Douglass High School in 1982. Eager to further his education, Tiny pursued studies at Central State University and Langston University, where he honed his athletic talents on the football field. It was during his college years that he pledged and proudly became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., embodying the principles of brotherhood and service.
In March of 1985, Maurice answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated dedication and valor in his service to the nation.
A devout follower of Christ, Maurice found solace and community early on at the Union Baptist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma, where his faith blossomed and enriched his life.
Maurice leaves behind a profound legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife,Julie, and his children: Maurice Pittman,Jr. (Martha) of Oklahoma City; Preston Pittman of Fort Worth, Texas; De'vonte' Pittman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Nicosia Rodgers of Oklahoma City; Brittani Pittman of Dallas, Texas; Stephanie Caldwell of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Quala McCormick of Drumright, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kesean, Maliyah, Alden, Draeden, and Zaden, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Maurice is also survived by his siblings: Andrew Arthur (Dorothy) of Tampa, Florida; Johnny Pittman (Patty) of Yukon, Oklahoma; Robert Pittman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Glendis Pittman (Sally) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Donna Pittman Freelen of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Pamelajones (James) of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Freeman Pittman, AJ. Patterson, Lambert Patterson, andjames Norris Pittman, sisters Zeffie Swanegan and Alfreda Pittman, and his son Ivory Spencer.
Though Maurice may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of the divine, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength to all who knew and loved him.
